A few days had passed and the newcomer had settled in, as much as he could, Eric supposed and business went on as usual. Sonya had come back to report on Argile's settlement at the Zoo and he had sent out a few scouts to keep an eye on their progress. He had no intention of putting his men to work to be farmers and construction workers but when the time came, they would eventually take over the Zoo and have Argile and his people work for him instead of with them.
It was a resource he couldn't afford to lose but he knew they would resist. He sent Sonya on a mission and to make sure the job was done, no matter what. He also had a plan on how to get Argile on his good side. He would make sure Argile and his people would become dependent on the White House to keep him safe and he knew how to make sure the safety of the greater good came before human life. Vagabonds and thugs would make that happen and they were expendable.
As he sat in the Oval Office, he had a plan for Clayton and Sonya. He wanted them to go and find a close by settlement that he heard was growing and filled with people who knew how to modify vehicles. That was something that could prove to be useful to him and he had a feeling Sonya would certainly be up to talking to a bunch of roughneck mechanics. She could handle those types. It would be a day long, if not overnight, adventure but he also knew Clayton was smart enough to handle any sort of negotiations to make that happen. South Carolina was close and he wanted to spread his circle and reach out. It was time.
He knew Serena was at the house and he wanted to gather everyone to make his plans very clear. After all, there was a guest waiting for him and one that didn't want to be there.
Sonya was a good soldier, if not the perfect soldier.
He stayed at his desk as he sent one of the guards to go gather up Serena, Sonya and Clayton to start the ball rolling.
