Taos had become Ashlyn's new home. After the outbreak Ashlyn couldn't stand to stay in Colorado anymore, or at least anywhere near her old home, especially the water. The scene from the day of the outbreak at the beach never seemed to leave her mind no matter how hard she tried. It had been branded into her memory and Ashlyn knew she would always remember the horrific sight of walkers crawling up onto the beach from the edge of the shore, attacking families; women children and even the elderly. This curse had no bounds.
Ashlyn currently cruised along Route 58 in Taos, heading back towards what she called Her stronghold. The engine of her dirt bike roared a bit as she approached the Eagle's Nest. She would cross the border and make her journey back to Tao Pueblo. The barricaded area was still standing strong but the portion she often came in through was slightly open, so in order to come in and out easily she would have to stop when she wanted to enter and leave and physically close or open the barrier; which she did. The ground was as dry as ever but that made the ride back to her "house" a lot smoother. However, the heat was intense. Now that summer had finally set in Ashlyn had become more less frugal with her water. In order to keep herself from the sun's blistering rays the best she could the young blonde girl wore long light blue jeans, tattered up white addidas, a rather small light green tank top, a dark cropped blue bomber jacket she had taken from a nearby convenience store and a white baseball cap to keep the sun out of her face. Strapped to her back was a backpack with many compartments. Inside were four gallon sized bottles of water, some canned food, a first aid kit and some ammunition she had scored for her gun that she found behind the counter of the convenience store she found the jacket in.
After some time she arrived at Tao Pueblo. She cruised down another long dirt road as she traveled further and further into the stronghold, more towards the wooded areas. After a few more minutes she came across a fairly large house. the windows were slightly boarded up but the barbed wire surrounding the house before this large barricaded area was created was gone. Ashlyn had discovered Taos on her travels. She had been out running a group of raiders that had tried to rob and rape her and ended up lost and confused in New Mexico. When she first arrived at Taos, it was the middle of the night and it seemed that those who originally lived in the barricaded area had either fled or stayed and died. The next day and those following, Ashlyn spent hours a day surverying the entire stronghold, taking out any walkers and making sure she was familiar with the area.
She parked her dirt bike outside the house and climbed off, turning the bike off and making her way into the home with her backpack . She made her way to the kitchen area where she began unloading the things she had brought.
