Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
When the widespread epidemic reached Louisiana, it came to their territory through the means of tourists wanting to play at their casino. From then on people got sick and placed in quarantine, whereas those that knew medicine sought to find a cure against the illness. When nothing worked and people died, they turned to the government for answers, who knew just as little as they did. Ordered to stay indoors that’s what they did, but failed to realize the danger of leaving the corpses untouched.
Just as the dead started walking, Awan went out to look for his missing dad and brother, and by the time he caught up to them it was already too late. His brother feasted on his father and grief stricken he ended it by shooting his brother in the head, though attracted every roamer nearby by doing so. Desperate he fled the scene and made it back to the house, where he locked up and hid with the remainder of his family and friends.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
What little hope they had for it to get better, faded with time when nothing seemed to change. Trapped in his childhood home, Awan sought to come up with an escape plan with the others, seeing that they couldn`t stay there forever. The roaming dead kept on coming and food was becoming scarce, to escape they had to fight. After some careful planning it was decided that some were to act as a distract, whereas the main group of defenseless mothers and children were to flee through the back. Awan disliked the idea entirely and on the morning before it was set to happen, he snuck out of the house and jumped to the building next door. He took the family pick up and worked as the distraction alone, beeping the horn to gain everyone`s attention.
By driving around in circles he made it secure for those inside to leave, and when everybody was in the clear, he drove to catch up with them. Quickly they got onto the vehicle, some taking the seats next to him, while most jumped in the back. With the horde right on their heels, he drove those he could save out of there. Upon reaching the open road they went looking for bits of civilization still standing, though to their surprise found out how badly the situation was.
On their journey north away from populated areas, they found the things they needed by looting abandoned stores and homes. Eventually their luck turned to misfortune, as they ran into a group of survivors who had gone hostile. They were forced to line up like cattle, and what they had just gathered of supplies was stolen. Whilst the men picked out the women of the group, a few was set to execute the men. Only by taking the chance to run away with his younger brother did Awan escape, although his brother got shot in the back for it.
With vengeance on mind, Awan snuck up on the raiders in the dark and took them out one by one, saving the woman that served as their entertainment. He found his mother still untouched in one of the cages, but his sister had suffered worse as she had gotten raped numerous times. Whilst the encampment burned, she killed the leader and called it justice.
After that incident they moved on and survived the way they knew best, sticking to the land and far from other people. They found new places to call home, though nothing lasted. By the time three years had passed, Awan had gotten separated and wandered alone.
