Sarah followed Abby into the kitchen and dropped the box on the table. "Yea...he found me in the school where I worked. He saved me." She glanced over at Abby and then started helping her go through the cabinets. She glanced at her, "Um...I know it's none of my business, but you and Max....been together long?" She felt it was only fair, since Abby asked her that question first."I..mean..you two seem to be close, is all, kinda like me and Charlie." Sarah fingered her cross, and stared at the door, then the pantry.
Sarah was not the leader in her relationship, she always followed Charlie's lead, and she wasn't sure about going down there without him, "Um...I.." a glance at Abby, "Shouldn't we wait for them....maybe we should get those bodies taken care of." She stuck her head in and looked in the pantry. "Hey!" she waved Abby over, "there is another door back here." She walked into the little room and to the door. She tapped on it, and listened, pulling her gun from her waist. God she hated this thing, but it was all she had at the moment. Sarah didn't hear anything, 'Should we look?" Her hand on the knob, she opened it a crack and waited.

Max lead him out the sode door, in order to avoid the girls who went out the front to retrieve the gear. He pushed the screen door open and walked out into the snow covered grass. He looked at the walked he killed near the barn. The young girl, his first kill with only one arm. "Forgot about that one," he said pointing it out. "That marks four outside and two in. Easy enough, but a lot of grave to dig. Looks like burning might be a better route."
He walked along to the shed. He slowed down when asked about abby. He didn't know if it's be better to saying they were together for awhile or just met. He decided on the first, that way he could defend her and not sound crazy. "We've been together I'd say around a month now. Could be longer, or shorter. Hard to say. We met at a welcome station. I was in a chopper and she had a car to sheild form the cold. It was an easy decision. Of course our cars nothing compared to yours. How the fuck did you manage that beast? We're you military before all this shit?"
He reached the shed door and pulled it open. As before tools lined the walls and firewood was staked beside a furnace. "Wheelbarrow on the corner," he said pulling it out. "Will make it easier."
Charles agreed that burning was the best option. It would be easier to stack funeral pier then it would be to dig graves.
"Yeah burning would be best. No need to dirty the ground for folks we don't know."
The question about the Knight was another story. He had told Sarah about his past only because he thought he was going to die and so it didn't matter at the time. She excepted him for it but he couldn't be sure that Max and Abby would be so excepting. For now he needed to keep his past a secret.
"Something like that," he said in a tone that said he didn't want to talk about it. Doubtless that Max would have an opinion about his choice to not divulge that information but he didn't care.
He went to work loading the tools into the wheelbarrow. Overall it was a nice haul and it would help a lot. He started getting a notion in his mind about thus place. It was removed from any towns and it could be barricaded to protect from wandering growlers. Maybe they could finally make a home for themselves.
"We could make a decent place here, barricade it up. It's far enough from town too."
Abby frowned, and realized this woman was worse off than she was. She wanted to know her story and what had gotten her to the point where she was submissive to that guy.
Abby shrugged, "We can get the bodies done quick, then see where they are and go from there." She wasn't going to give up on the idea.
She crept behind Sarah into the pantry. She had missed that, dang it. She moved back and grabbed her bat from the counter, 'No gun, less we have to." She whispered and nodded for Sarah to open it all the way. As she did, Abby stepped up to meet anything that came out, but...seconds later, and nothing had moved, no noise.
Abby headed in, and looked around in the waning light through the window. It was like a utility room. It had a washer and dryer, sink, but it was the piece of equipment in the corner that really caught Abby's attention. There was a door leading to the outside. She looked at Sarah, 'Is...that what I think it is?" She grabbed the outside door and unlocked it, then looked around real quick before booking to the shed.
Abby forgot all about Sarah and left her there, alone in the utility room.
Abby ran into the shed, "Max!..We found it! We found it in the utility room! It was through the pantry." She ran up to him, she was so excited, 'It's a generator, i think." She looked over at Charlie, "Sarah is inside with it...but I'm not sure, I want you guys to see it."
Sarah saw Abby grab her bat, and she pushed the door open. She watched Abby and gripped her gun tighter. She was doing her best not to shake. She hadn't done this without Charlie, and was nervous.
When Abby headed on in, she followed. It was a laundry room. Sarah sighed audibly with relief, but Abby's reaction startled her, 'What is..what?" She looked and saw what the girl was so excited about, and before she could stop her, she was out the outside door.
Sarah went to the door, and stopped. It was starting to get dark, and she froze. Where was the flashlight? In the pack. She stepped back inside and shut the door. She stared out the window, 'Charlie...where are you?" she murmured against the pane of glass. She looked around , and felt icy chills run up her spine.
She was alone. She didn't hear anything. She backed up from the door and bumped into the washer. Sarah jumped and turned, gun raised. Lord! She took a deep breath and swallowed. "Peace be still" she mused and fingered her cross. It was getting darker in the small room. She headed through the pantry, almost as a run. In the kitchen she scanned the room. She started to shake, and was trying to take deep breaths. She didn't like being alone....it was too quiet. She backed around in the kitchen, til she hit the table. She was starting to panic. Where was Charlie? He never left her alone like this!
Sarah ripped open the duffel and snatched out the large flashlight. She clicked it on and light flooded the kitchen. She caught movement of a shadow near the front door, "Charlie?" she called softly, but she didn't get a response. Sarah started to back towards the screen door of the kitchen, "Who's there?" She held the light in one hand and the gun in the other.

When Charles dodged the question about him being military he just shrugged it off. He didn't care if this guy told or not. He wasn't going to reveal his past, and didn't expect anyone else to. He hadn't even revealed it to Abby, and probably wouldn't till the time was right.
"So burning right? Sounds good. Though I hope the smoke won't attract raiders. I mean if you found us, other people are destined to as well," ma said as he helped load all the tools in. "Are you actually thinking of staying here? We just found this place today. We haven't really decide what our next plan was. This place was just a stop till we caught out breath. We had a rough day and night before we came here." He chuckled a bit. "Actually given an hour or two difference we'd probably be in different places. We'd be the ones knocking at y'ah door."
When abby came in he turned to face her. "Really a generator. That will help. We can actually shower tonight," he said looking at her. "We might have to shower together to save resources," he said quite and winked at Abby. "Let's take a look at it."
He motioned for Charlie to lead the way with the tools and pulled abby aside. "Listen I told him we have been together for awhile. Figured it would make us seem better than two strangers meeting another stranger. So keep it at that okay," he said whispering to her.

"Why not stay? It's as good a place as any I've found since all of this. Yeah me and Sarah have had a rough day too. Met a kid, only he'd been bitten..." He didn't finish his last comment because honestly that was all that needed said about the situation. He was sure that Max would understand.
When Abby came running about a generator it picked everything up.
"This place just keeps on getting better."
He grabbed the wheelbarrow up and started towards the house when he saw the flashlight. He couldn't hear anything. He hadn't heard anyone pull up so he guessed it was Sarah.
"Sarah is that you?" He pseudo yelled, hoping that he was right and that whoever it was didn't decide to blow his brains out.
Abby blanched white as a sheet when Max made his comment about showers. She felt her mouth open, but stopped, then grinned, 'Sure...girls ..then boys, just like the locker rooms in high school." She was about to turn and follow Charlie out, but felt Max reach out and grab her arm.
She didn't resist and he pulled her back, so he could find her ear. His breath brushed against the fine hair of her neck and she stiffened. Abby swallowed and then spoke, "got it...no worries, I think something is wrong with his girl." She glanced back to him and told him about how she acted about checking the cellar, "she is totally dependant on that guy, I don't know what went down, but something." She leaned abck against him, "So..a month or so..." she chuckled softly, "did I hurt anything else besides your shoulder?" She canted her head, "We better go help." She pulled away and started out the door, and saw the flashlight beam, 'what the fuck?" she glanced at Max, then headed for the house at a jog.
Sarah was freaking out. Who was out there near the front door? She felt the door against her backside , and glanced back, then forward again. It was there..at the front door...she heard a noise behind her and whirled, gun pointed.
Not meaning to, she shined the light right into Charlie's face. She hit the screen door and practically ran at him, dropping the light in the dirt, 'Someone..is out...the front! She left me Charlie! You left me!" she was clinging to him, scared to death. She knew she should be much braver than this, but the dark, the close space, it was all too much and then the shadow. Tears ran down her cheeks, as she grabbed onto him.
He realized in that moment that he had never left Sarah alone since they met. She had slept by him, ate near him. The only time they had separated was when they had to take care of business. The last time she had truly been alone was... the schoolhouse. He felt bad that she had flipped out so badly, but he also took her dead seriously when she said something was out front.
"Well let's check it out. Grab the light and we'll go have a look."
His hands dropped to his mp7 and he pulled it out. He waited for Sarah to grab the flashlight and then started walking towards the front. If it was a person they would need the firepower, a growler on the other hand required a different reaction.

Max followed Abby closely. "You think she's ceazy or something," he asked her, though loud enough only she could hear. "Yeah a month, thought we met at welcome centre as the truth."
He saw Sarah grab onto to charlie as she started to cry. "Wow, glad I'm with you and not her," Max said again in a hushed tone.
"Is she hurt. What happened," Max asked the pair holding each other. He assumed something was wrong, that she was really hurt to be crying.
Abby saw Sarah come out the door like a bat outta hell. What the fuck happened, she was fine, not a couple minutes ago? She felt Max behind her, and heard his words. She jumped. Damn! He had to stop doing that. She cut him a look, and raised a brow. With her? What did that mean?
She moved over and heard her say someone was out front. She glanced at Max, then spoke softly, 'Charles, you take her and go through the house, we will go around on the porch." She gripped her bat, and stared at Sarah, "she alright?" She saw how shaken she was and realized....what she was saying. Yea, something real bad had happened to her to make her freak out like that. She glanced at Max, and he would see Abby felt bad. Damn, did she feel bad. She headed up on the porch and started to ease around the side, heading to the front corner.
Sarah heard Charlie's voice and his calmness got her under control. She nodded, "You're right, sorry." She took a deep breath and reached down and grabbed the flashlight.
As she came up , she saw Abby and Max. She realized they must think she was nuts. She knew she was going to have to explain, but not now. She turned and walked up the steps and to the screen door, holding the light.
She felt much better with charlie with her, and was able to handle the situation. She moved through the kitchen and towards the front. Down the hall and to the front door. She shone the light , so he would be able to see better.
On the other side of the screen door, pressed against it now was a corpse. She froze and glanced at Charlie, "I...it..I'm sorry."
When he saw the growler pressed against the screen he actually breathed a sigh of relief. It had probably banged something and scared the hell out of Sarah and after the day they'd had it wasn't like he blamed her for being so skiddish. Charles put his gun down and drew out his knife. He knew that Max and Abby were coming around front but he had seen enough of these damned things today.
He walked up to the door and kicked it outwards, throwing the growler to the ground. He was on top of it in a second, stabbing at it's head over and over until it was mush.
"Damn these things, can't get away from them."
He wiped his blade off on his pants and grabbed the thing under it's shoulders. He looked around to anyone nearby and asked for help.
"Need to get this thing off of the porch. We might as well burn them tonight and then get some food in us."

Max turned the corner and looked at Charles kille the Sinner. "You got it good," he said looking at its limp body. He had his machete out and ready as he expected to have to kill it. "Is there more," he asked looking down the road. Where'd this one even come from. We must have been making to much noise." He looked at the Sinner and leaned on the house.
"Burning them is still the plan," he asked looking up charles. "Well there's two upstairs and four in the barn. Why don't you dump the tools and get the ones in the barn and field. Abby and I can get the ones upstairs, you and Sarah the ones in the barn. We can help eachpther when we finnish, burn the bodies in the field."
Abby just stood and watched from the corner of the house. Damn, talk about over kill. She saw the rage coming out in Charles , as he repeatedly stabbed the dead man.
Max spoke up and she crossed her arms, "Yea..ok...you mean I will get the ones upstairs...no problem." She smirked at him and reached out with the bat and gently tapped his arm in the sling. She looked at Sarah, 'You can stay with him....and I will go with Max...soon as we get these two, we can come outside and help you all, get back inside faster." She was trying to be nice to the woman, make it easier for her. She looked at Max, then sighed and handed him her bat, 'Here...hold this, so I can grab the feet.'
Abby moved over and grabbed the corpse by it's ankles, 'alright...which way we going?" For a dead guy, he was heavy, and god did he stink. She opened her mouth and started breathing that way, instead of her nose, "Hey , "she was talking to Max, 'run up there and see if you can find a sheet...roll one off to the floor on it for me." She grinned at him and made a kissie face at him, as she headed off with Charles.

Max just smirked at her and gave a wink. he climbed the stairs and walke down the hall to the room with the dead. He looked at the room. It was large for a bedroom, but it reeked of death. "Glad I get the purple room," he said out loud for himself. He grabbed the sheet from ontop of the dead couple on the bed an layed it on the floor beside the bed. He rolled the female Sinner off the bea an onto the sheet. He then wrapped the body in the sheet and tied it off at the end. That left the second sinner and the sheet on the bed to use. He started to unhook the edges and wrap it around the body to drag away. He soon had it tied up like the other, ready to be dragged out.
"Alright it's good to go," he yelled down the stairs to whoever was coming to assist him. "They are tied up and ready to hauled."
Sarah followed behind Abby and Charles, giving them light to see by. Once they had gone a few feet in the field, the dropped the dead man and Abby booked it back to the house, while Charle and Sarah went to the barn, 'Where are they supposed to be? I saw one in the yard, but he said there were four out here?" She didn't like the barn, it was so dark, but being with Charlie helped to keep her grounded.
Abby booked it back to the farmhouse, not so much that she was scared. Hell, who was she kidding. Bitch was scared. She had given Max her bat and had to run back here in almost dark with no weapon. She hit the front porch and took the steps in one big stride. Inside she latched the screen door, closed the wooden one and locked it. She leaned against it, then heard Max yelling, "Keep your pants on, I'm coming!" She headed up the steps two at a time and headed towards the end room. God the smell, "Shit...can we open the window a crack, least air it out for them, ya know?" She stared at the two wrapped bodies. In a way, it completely creeped her out that he knew how to do this and did it so well. "Um..." she stared at him, "nope, 'she held up her hand, 'I don't wanna know..." she reached down and grabbed the rope and started to pull the woman's body out into the hall. Fuck! this was gonna be harder than she thought, 'I am sooo gonna serve a hot soak in a tub for this, "she mumbled as she pulled the corpse along towards the stairs. Abby straightened and stretched her back, then looked at the steps. Man...she could just push it and let it roll, but would that be right? Nope, she started down a couple steps and pulled the corpse feet first, and kept going like that. Down a couple and then pull.
Charles looked over to Sarah. They weren't going but a couple hundred feet so he was sure she would be ok. He groaned a little when they picked up the growler. It was one heavy sob.
"Let's take them over to the right. That part of the yard looks great for what we need."
They hefted it over to a good spot to burn and plunked it down on the ground. He wiped his hands on his pants and started back to the house. He waved to Sarah.
"Let's get to those bodies out in the barn. We still have a little light left so we might as well get this done."
Once she caught up with him he would continue on to the barn to get the bodies of of there.
