"Landry's an asshole, but he'll get what's coming to him. I can assure you of that. He just needs to learn that he's replaceable, probably the hard way, and then he'll cool off a bit." Andrei answered to Ellen while glancing at her with the corner of his eye and a devilish grin on his face. Without a word, he extended the pipe to Ellen, in case she wanted a bit. "The camp's alright, but it could use a lot more work on defence and sustainability. At this rate, we probably won't make it until summer. Still, that's a discussion for another time, not tonight." he inhaled deeply from the pipe, and spoke, gesturing with it while smoke left his body with each word. "Your sister seems to be making friends."
Mia burst out laughing, "Damn!" she giggled and pushed up to her hands and knees, then sat back, butt on her heels, 'So...you think I got a nice body, huh?" She shook she was laughing so hard, "I am older than you think...30." She shifted and got her feet under her, 'I need my bed..."she made a noise, "pssh...bed..my freaking cot, god I miss my bed...it had one of those pillow tops , did that ever feel good." She sighed and moved over to him, extending her hand, 'Here...let me help you up" she pulled her hand back, suddenly, 'wait...maybe you should stay there....so I can strip and change without you drooling." Damn, she had no censor. Whatever she thought she said. Now she remembered another reason she didn't drink.
"Aww but I want to drool and watch you strip," Nate said remaing laying on the ground. "I mean who wouldn't want to," he laughed. By now he had no clue or care about what he was saying. "You defiently got a smoking body," he said "even for a thirty year old. That's only five years older than me. Barely anything." He laughed again and tryed to tilt his head to look at her. "Beats the sleeping bag I have. Aparently my tent can't fit anymore cots. I'd take a sleep on your cot anyday. Any day."

It was almost funny how things could escalate so quickly. One moment he was walking back to his tent. Feeling pretty confident that Alfred would of passed out when he got there. Sadly his boyfriend had been drunkenly messing around with things while waiting for him to return. Normally this would of been nice if it hadn't been for the drinks Alfred had taken earlier. Things escalated quickly and Nick found himself pants less. Checking around tents for Alfred who tried to chase him down at first. Very cautiously he made his away around despite freezing his butt off in boxers. Luckily he spotted Mia and Nate just in time as he heard the familiar voice calling his name. Speeding up his steps as he approached them with a nervous and awkward smile. What could you expect from a man stuck in his boxers. "Hey Mia and uhhh Nate." Scratching his neck in slightly as this was a weird question. "Can I please hide in your tent because Al-" He cut himself off once he heard his name being called again. This time closer then before. Quickly he entered the tent stepping over Nate. "Sorry but this is of importance dude."
The intruder obeyed, and that could mean two things to Mac; he was either scared into obedience or up to something. There was the off-chance that he actually had enough common sense to know that he was beaten and would have to cooperate to survive of course, but that people were rarely that intelligent. And assuming such a thing was a good way to get yourself and others killed.
As they went into the Council tent, they passed one of Ellen's guards. Mac figured it'd be best to get his oldest involved. This was a matter for her after all.
"Guard, go get Ellen." Mac said. "Tell her her dad's needs her in the Council tent."
The guard obeyed and went to get Ellen. Mac followed his captive inside and decided to get him disarmed before his daughter got here.
"Alright, weapons on the table." Mac said. "Slowly, and you can start with the one you're hiding in your hand under your sleeve. You're not fooling anyone."
With all the military and CIA training Mac had gotten, he had become somewhat of an expert when it came to concealed weapons; from places where people could hide them to certain postures people took when hiding one. So unless this kid had severe artritis, there was no way in hell his hand would bend that way in a natural position. And since he was able to scale the wall, he didn't have artritis.
Ellen laughed at what Andrei said about Landry, but he did have a point about the camp's defenses. Her dad had already told her that. As for Landry, unless another farmer came along he couldn't be replaced. As much as she hated the man, he was a necessary evil when it came to farming food. Ellen politely waved off his gesture to give her a drag from his pipe. She didn't get down like that. As for her sister; her dad had told her that Anne-Marie had changed during this whole ordeal and that she had become cold. Seeing her socialize with other people might heal her in time.
Still, there were more pressing matters than camp sustainability or her sister's mental health. Zoey was going to pop any moment now and they were ill-equipped to deal with a childbirth. She figured it would be best to let Andrei know that now.
"Look... there's another thing." Ellen said. "It's what I wanted to talk to you about. Not sure if Harding mentioned this to you already but the thing is; we got three girls pregnant within the camp. We're expecting the first one, Zoey, to give birth any moment now. All these births were conceived after the outbreak so their condition is their own fault but... you may haven noticed already that the medbay is ill-equipped to deliver children into this world and Harding's a cardiologist, not an OBGYN. So I kinda fear for the worst."
Ellen leaned more forward and stared at the ground, entangling her fingers and resting her elbows on her knees. Felt kinda good to share this burden with someone else for a change.
"I'll be honest; I'm not keen on sending people into walker-infested zone like Denver or Boulder and risking their lives to get birthing equipment for a newborn and a mother who might not even live through the childbirth." Ellen continued. "Just doesn't feel right possibly sending them to their deaths because a couple of dumb girls weren't able to keep their legs shut even after the world went to shit."
A guard then walked up to Ellen.
"Ellen, your father's asked that you come to the Council tent." the guard said. "Seemed important."
Ellen nodded and then turned back to Andrei.
"Duty calls." Ellen said to Andrei. "Care to join me? We can talk more on the way."

Damon dropped the knife smiling and mumbled to himself "Mother fucker" He started to feel a craving for a cigarette and looked down at his pocket noticing he had his lighter but didn't have any smokes left. He stood half grinning "Well it uh, looks like you've got a nice place here and stuff. That wall is the bomb though" He then stood in what can only be described as an awkward silence nodding and looking around.

Andrei followed Ellen, to continue their discussion, smoking from the pipe from time to time. He was keeping pace, walking right beside her
"Don't be so hasty to judge, lass. Some of them may have been forced upon. Others maybe had to open their legs or risk never using them again. Or maybe that was the only thing that felt good in this hellhole we live in. There are many variables to take into account, and I can't tell you something, one way or another until I know those variables. However, the birthing will be required at some point." he inhaled deeply from the pipe and continued "There's a metric tonne of shit to do around the camp, what gets done when is ultimately the Council's decision. If you want, I could talk to the girls, and find out what's what."
Anthony passively listened as Anne-Marie explained why she thought the Reverend did what he did. Kuru...eating human flesh. Insanity. Sure, but why did the guy start eating the human flesh in the first place? Was he a Satanist before the outbreak? Maybe. She'd had sex with one of the guys there, so as to prevent being raped. A difficult move, but ultimately a safe one, probably. Anthony admired that, at least. Then she spoke of her brother, who was apparently a rapist before the outbreak.
"I'm sorry...about your brother," Anthony offered, knowing it wouldn't mean much to the girl. He could hear the disdain in her voice. He didn't push it, because he knew it would do no good. And he didn't want to make the girl feel badly by digging up bad memories. He looked over to her and forced a smile. "You know...I could use some adjustment. If you can handle this world, I guess I don't have much of an excuse either, huh? I know your dad wants me to get with the program, too. I think I'll try."

Mia was shocked as she suddenly saw Nicki standing there in his boxers. "What the hell!" she started laughing, then looked at Nate as Nicki stepped over him. "um...those weren't my skivvies, but hey." She bent over laughing so hard. She held her hand down to Nate to help him up, 'Come on...let's find out what's going on." She glanced at the tent and tried really hard to act seriously, but she fell back against Nate, "Tell ya what, Kid, you still think that when we are both sober and maybe.' She chuckled at him, and tangled with the flap going into the tent.
Nate saw Nicki before him, "dude what's up? Did you and your friend get lucky," he aske still laying on the ground. He tilted his head back to see Mia but couldn't from that angle. "Who yeah hiding from," he asked as the he stepped over him. "Did Hykeem scare you? I promise he doesn't bite," he said laughing to himself. When mia pulled him up he wobbled where he stood, "is every thing okay," he asked looking at the pair. He watched Mia struggle with the tent flap and laughed when he caught her in his arms. "I'll take your word on that," he said smilling at her remark about them being sober, "if we even remember it."
Ellen stopped in her tracks. Of course she knew that rape was a factor but she also knew for a fact that the ones she was talking about got pregnant within the camp by their boyfriends. Zoey was a student at the University of Colorado as well and had followed Ellen to Bear Lake and was there from the get-go. All three of them had gotten pregnant within the camp, Zoey being the first. Ellen turned around and looked at Andrei with a firmer look in her face.
"Look, I know for a fact that they all conceived within the camp okay?" Ellen answered. "Seeing as all three have boyfriends who they're still with today, I highly doubt anything was forced upon them. I'd be a whole lot more compassionate if one of them had actually been raped but the sad truth of the matter is they did this to themselves, and they're expecting me to put other people's lives on the line because they couldn't control their urges."
Ellen sighed and put her hands on her hips.
"But it's a moot point anyway." Ellen continued. "They're pregnant and that's it. Two of them aren't due for at least another month so that buys us some more time. But like I said; we're expecting Zoey to go pop any moment so even if I were to send people out now, they'd never get back in time; assuming they live through the attempt. I just figured maybe you know something that Harding doesn't. I only know that if Zoey dies and the child along with her, Harding won't pull the trigger herself."
It had occured before that people were dying and that they didn't want to turn and come back. As a final request they had asked to die before it came that far. Some were able to pull the trigger themselves, others... couldn't anymore and Ellen, Charlie or one of the other guards had to do it for them. It wasn't something to be done easily; it was different from killing walkers.
"Let's just go see my dad and discuss it with him." Ellen said. "He might have an idea about what to do."
Ellen opened the flap to the Council tent and her eyes widened. Her father was keeping a gun trained on another newcomer. She didn't recognize the man as one of the camp's settlers. Her dad must've caught him not too long ago.
"What the hell!?" Ellen said unpleasantly surprised. "Who's this guy!? Dad!?"
Mac couldn't help but smirk a little as the guy clearly wasn't happy that he had seen him hiding the weapon. Even if he hadn't, it would do him little good. The man cursed and gave a compliment about the wall, but Mac disagreed.
"Probably a bad time for name calling son." Mac said. "But for now I'm gonna assume you're dumb and you don't know any better, so I'll look past it just this once. As for the wall; it keeps the walkers out but not yet intruders like yourself."
Ellen came in with Andrei. His daughter was obviously surprised and not in a good way. She'd have to deal with the two guards who had missed this guy later on, and have them sharpened up.
"Just caught this guy scaling the walls." Mac answered Ellen. "He was just about to introduce himself, weren't you son? Go ahead. Prove to us that you aren't as dumb as you look."
Anne-Marie shook her head when Anthony said sorry about Drew. The only thing she was sorry off was that Drew was out there surviving and getting people killed in the process. Selling them out like he did her. Hearing Anthony say that he wanted to change his behavior pleased her however.
"I'm sorry too." Anne-Marie said. "Sorry in knowing that as long as my brother lives, others will die or worse because of him. As for my dad... he's only pushing you because he wants you to survive. And by letting you escort that Wilkson guy away from the motel back in Houston he showed you that you have to be willing to do things you don't want to do in order to survive. I know it was difficult to leave those two kids behind but you did the right thing in coming here with us, as did the rest. That hysterical girl Tala was a walker-magnet and that guy Mark would never accept an authority figure. Chances are they're already dead, and if you had been with them; you would've been too."

Damon smirked, he wasn't used to people speaking. It had been around two months since he had spoken a single word to a stranger. He then flicked a bug off his arm "Names Damon, just trying to like, get home or find some kind of safe zone or whatever... you know the usual survivor travelling needs" He surveyed the faces of those in the tent carefully and stayed still.
Ellen sighed in an annoyed manner. 'Like, or whatever', was this guy really that indifferent about things? Something didn't add up. Ellen made eyecontact with her dad, who in turn shook his head slightly to indicate he didn't believe the man's story. Ellen grabbed her comms on her shoulder. It was time to get some extra manpower in here.
"Charlie, Ellen. Discreetly get a couple of guys and meet me in the command tent." Ellen spoke through the radio. It wasn't too long before Charlie's response came. "On it. What's going on?" Charlie asked. "We caught an intruder. It's under control but I'd like some extra folks here regardless." "Be right there."
Ellen grabbed a chair and offered it to the man. Mac picked up the knife he had dropped and put it in his pocket for safekeeping. If this guy turned out to be okay, he'd give it back.
"Please, sit." Ellen said. "Pardon us for the rude greeting, but we're not used to people scaling the walls. My name's Ellen, I run the guard. You've met my father Logan, and this is Andrei."
By now Charlie had arrived and had entered the tent. She was as surprised as the rest of them to see the intruder.
"El? Everything okay?" Charlie asked. "The guys are posted outside."
Ellen nodded at Charlie. Charlie took place next to Andrei.
"This is Charlie, my XO." Ellen continued. "Now Damon, could you elaborate as to why you decided to scale the wall instead of using the door to come in?"
Mia was so confused. She now had two men in the tent with her. One half naked and the other wanted to fet her naked. She glanced at Nate,"yea...if,right." She smirked at him and chuckled ,but stopped as her eyes fell on Nicki again,"why are you not wearing pants? What's going on and who upu hiding from?" Wow,here head ached and she sat down on a cot, almost missing it and landing in the floor.

Nick stared at both of them for a moment as he thought about being quiet. Biting his lip when Nate said something about getting lucky. He hated that he got to the point of hiding. "Well almost lucky" Dark brown eyes wondered over to the women called Mia. Mainly focusing on her question until he saw her fall onto the floor. Shaking his head reminding himself not to tough the drink. Offering a hand to help her up. "Well when two people love each very much sometimes they fuck. Which brings me to my next question which is. Were you two planning on fucking? or just drunk sex that would be awkward possibly later? " Looking at the two now that he tried to make his way out of that question of who and why.

Damon looked over to the daughter and slowly took a seat keeping his hands in front "Knock? Yet again what world do you people live in where you just go and knock on peoples doors. This world is full of murderers, thieves and even cannibalistic assholes" He then stopped a second and gazed at the wall quickly peaking behind to see if anyone was sneaking up on him "On another point I had no intention to enter this camp. I was on the road cycling, I hid my bike and wanted to scout an opportunity or whatever... See if I could create a distraction and get by possibly... Kind of thought I'd head east... started in LA and... followed like, route 25? Anyway reached the town of Trinidad which was crawling with walkers so I came up the mountain to find a long way round."
He kept looking around and being as observant as he could. Trying to spot who had a weapon, what type of people they were, any weakness or general emotion about the place.
Last Edit: Feb 21, 2015 22:15:43 GMT -5 by Damon Morris
This guy seemed on edge, and Ellen wondered whether or not drugs were involved or if he didn't expect to get caught and his friends were coming. And she didn't quite believe him when he told her he had cycled all the way from LA. Still, he was being truthful of Trinidad; last time they scouted that place it was Walker Central.
But it had been a rough day and her patience was at an end. This guy putting up a big mouth wasn't doing wonders either. But where Ellen had kept her patience, Charlie had lost hers.
"Oh smartass huh?" Charlie said. "How about we rough you up a bit and see if you still sing the same song after we're done with you!"
Ellen put her arm against Charlie.
"Charlie, no!" Ellen said, holding her friend back. She pointed at Damon.
"As for you, we know well enough what it's like out there." Ellen continued. "Which is how this place came to be. But trying to sneak in here was a good way to get yourself killed. You're lucky my father didn't shoot you!"
Ellen pushed Charlie a bit back and calmed her down before turning back to Damon.
"Now we're gonna have to keep you here with us for at least a week, considering the way you came in." Ellen said. "Just to make sure no one else is coming for you. If after that you want to leave, you can. If you prove useful and you want to stay, we could find a place for you here. But until then we expect you to earn your keep, so we're gonna put you to work within the camp. We're also gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and treat you in a civil manner, I ask that you do the same to the other people within the camp. If you don't, I'm won't hold Charlie back again next time. Sounds fair?"
