"Tala?" Marko raised a questioning eyebrow at Tala when she didn't answer, only shaking her head. He started to move closer, worried that she might do something uncalled for. He had only thought it was a normal walker trapped beneath her feet, but that turned out to be wrong. He stared down at the walker in sullen silence, before reaching out for her, "Hey, y-".
Marko flinched as he spear was planted into the boy's eye socket. Without a word, Tala had left the room, the spear clattering on the ground behind her as she walked.
He stood, watching as Tala slumped down, a distant look on her face. Marko turned back to the kid, now limp on the ground, a pool of black blood starting to form around his head. It was a morbid sight, one that was now too common. "Shit" Marko cursed beneath a mournful sigh. A wave of emptiness washed over him. A numb acceptance, he realized, biting his lips.
At the very least, the kid didn't have to suffer anymore.
Marko moved quietly and slowly across the floor towards Tala, crouching down to pick up the spear as he passed it by. He didn't say anything. What was there to say? Instead, he simply sat down opposite of her, laying down the weapon behind him. Marko had understood what Tala was going through and knew better than to say anything, at least not yet. There had to be time first. Those bare few seconds felt like hours.
"You put him out of his misery" Marko spoke when he felt it was right, his eyes locking with hers. "At least now, he won't suffer anymore"
