Clementine grabbed her handgun and Vivian's old bow as she climbed out of the truck. She glanced toward Lilly, then averted her dark gaze, barely paying attention to the on going discussion. It was only a gentle nudge from Koda that sent her closer to Mark's side. Heading off with Mark, she wondered if she try and explain Lilly. Glancing to the ground, she followed alongside him. Then she saw a truck with a camper parked just off to the side of the motel, and forgot about Lilly for the moment. Glancing up at Mark, she pointed. ”Look.” Squinting back ahead in the dying light, “I think a see blood going toward it.”
Ash smiled at Dakota. "Your birthday huh? Well that'll make you what? Seven? Eight?" Ash teased the girl with a chuckle. "Happy Birthday Dakota." Ash wrapped his arms around Dakota and gave her a hug. He held onto her tightly for awhile before he felt something force its way between the two. Shadow had gotten jealous and involved himself in the hug.
Ash laughed and pet the dog. "Your such a jealous pup you know that?" The dog let out a huff enjoying the attention. "I know this motel doesn't look good but it's better than sleeping another night in the RV."
Tala nodded at Castle, and watched him. She stiffled her chuckle. He always made her laugh. She smiled at Wyatt, "We appreciate it, and if you hear something...just come get us." She nudged Marko, "Alright...that means me and you, partner." She grinned and started to move towards their side of the motel. Her feet crunched on the gravel and she cringed. So much for silence.
Once up to the first door, she reached out and gripped the knob, and turned, but it didn't budge. Locked. Well, damn. She glanced at Marko, "We gonna need to go in the office and grab the keys. I figure locked doors got dead inside."
He still didn't seem right. She got close to him, to whisper, "Hey..snap outta it soldier....tell me...what's going on? You loosing your shit out here or what?" She stared at him, looking him up and down, she snapped her fingers near his face, 'Marko..."she hissed, "hey..I'm talking to you."
In any other circumstances, Marko would have laughed. Right now, however, the humour fell flat on him. He had no objections to Castle's plan, and thus stayed silent. Instead focusing on keeping his breath steady, his heartrate under control and his mind focused; it wasn't just his own life that depended on him anymore.
Taking a deep breath, he moved slowly, falling into steps besides Tala. His gunhand was steady being more reliant on muscle memory, while his mind was not. "Careful there, watch your steps" He said as the gravel crunched under Tala's feet, hoping to distract himself more than anything else.
They had reached the first door without anymore hiccups other than that, only to discover that the door itself wouldn't budge. That meant either it was vacant, or there's a dead guy stuck inside. Marko hoped it was the former. Taking a deep breath, Marko calmed himself down. Things were going just fine.
Then he spotted it, down the hallway towards where the main office was: Another shadowy figure, staring at him before slipping back into the dark. He found his heart racing again. This wasn't real. Goddamnit, was he going crazy?
He blinked. Snapped out of his trance, he quickly answered Tala, fearing she would get suspicious "No, I'm fine. Just..." He paused, thinking of an excuse but drawing a blank "Let's just keep moving." He said, not quite looking at her.
The biker didn't know what to say to the little girl. Walking beside her Mark had his pistol and flashlight out. He wanted to ask about Lilly but he didn't know if she was ready. As she pointed out the blood leading up to the camper. "I suppose we should check it out. Good eye squirt."
Shining his light on it Mark approached the camper pistol raised. He crouched down to the blood. The cold weather made it impossible to tell how fresh it was. Following the blood to the camper Mark shined his light in the window. a curtain blocked his light from going in but he could have sworn he saw something move. "Hold on somethings moving inside there."
"This isn't my first time. I know what to do." Lilly hissed back at Logan pulling out her knife. The first door was open. The room was covered in a layer of dust. Shining her small pen light she walked in kicking up dust as she walked. She sneezed loudly from the dust.
Something behind the bathroom door started moving. It banged weakly against the door. Gripping the handle she threw the door open. The walker staggered out of the room. Lilly reacted fast as she jammed the knife into the skull of the walker. The walker dropped to the floor as Lilly pulled her knife back out. "This rooms safe now."

In a manner that could have been reminiscent of the girl's long dead mother, she put one hand to her hip and tilted her head slightly forward with one brow slightly arched up. Dakota could recount how her mother used to get that same exact gesture to both herself and her father. Note she imitated it without meaning to when year about her what she was turning. A silent sort of 'really now?'.
She broke into laugher though and returned Papa Bear's hug. "Thanks, Papa Bear. And nah. I would be 12 now, if really is anywhere near or after my birthday." Koda giggled and pet over Shadow's ears. "Hey boy."
"Lets get goin." Ash clicked his tongue making Shadow follow. "Did Clementine say anything about Lilly? Lilly was especially quiet on the drive." Ash hadn't spoken to her once on the drive. He'd watched the curtain the whole drive but she never opened it except when they stopped.
Shadow sniffed ahead of them as Ash looked at Dakota. "How was Mark? He seems to have softened up a bit since he's been with you two." Ash chuckled. Ash had been friend with Mark since the two had fought back at the farm. The bigger man easily won but Ash was an adult and shook hands with Mark after.
Castle watched as lilly cleared out the dusty room and he looked towards the second door when she said about this not being her first time. Castle smiled and shook his head. "Apparently not but never the less it needs to be said." Castle walked over to the door and tried the handle. "Well bugger it's locked." as he said that he noticed the window was cracked open a little. forcing his blade into the gap and forcing the window open Castle climbed inside. What he saw next would make him unsure weather to laugh or step back out. There was a rather half eaten fat naked man laid out on the bed with two naked women dead heads still eating. "Poor bugger I hope he didn't pay up front for you ladies. You bring a whole new meaning to rough sex or you're just bad at head." Castle moved to the bed forcing his blade into one of there heads while pulling out his knife and forcing it into the other. "Sorry ladies you're not my type." Castle chuckled drawing his blades out and moving to the door unlocking it.
Tala stopped and grabbed Marko's arm, "Ya know what, we are gonna have a serious talk later, but right now, you need to vent." She stared at him, then the locked door, "Kick it down." She grinned at him, "I mean..isn't that what you soldier types are good for, muscle?" She raised a brow, "kick it in and we can destroy with extreme prejudice." She chuckled and reached over and tapped the knife he had strapped on. "No guns...." she leaned against the wall, 'I'm waiting." She figured if he got it out, he would be better. Stress was a killer, even more so in this world they had to live in. She looked across the parking lot and saw Cas go through a window. What the fuck was he doing? She didn't think that was smart.
Taking a deep breath, "That's not really necessary" Marko shook his head in flat denial while recoiling and shrugging off Tala's grasp involuntarily. "I'm fine, really" He pleaded, not quite meeting her eyes as he spoke. Perhaps it was out of pride did he hide his... condition. Or, perhaps, it was once again fear, fear that they would think he's mad and dangerous. Marko was questioning himself. "You really don't need to worry about it. Let's just focus..."
"All right, you want me to vent?" He cleared his throat and asked, stepping up to the door. Marko had heard what she said about soldiers being muscles. "Hey, I'll have you know I am a decorated platoon leader, that means I'm not all muscle" He joked yet not quite laughing himself, hoping to distract Tala. "However, kicking down doors are fun"
At that time, Marko no longer cared if it was loud. He was doing his best to stay the hell away from the office where he saw the ghost, and figured the risk of sound was worth taking. The door itself was in no fine shape, with some of the inner wood layers exposed by termites and the paint already peeling away. It didn't take that much force to snap the lock, and a kick from a highly trained military personnel carried plenty of force.

Wyatt saw how everyone was working on getting the place safe. He looked from one vehicle to another making sure no walkers where joining the party. While he was alone he thought about everything that happened past few weeks, or days he had no clue how many time was passed. All he knew was that he still didn’t succeed in finding his brother and that he lost his companions, lucky for him he found Castle again. If it wasn’t for him he wasn’t sure if the group would have given him a chance. “Now all I need is my brother.” Wyatt whispered softly to himself. Then he shook his head and turned his attention back on his duty, guarding the place.
Tala was suprised that he didn't really have to use that much force. It still was a decent sounding crack, but the door swung open. She waited, letting Marko have the pleasure of the kill, should there be need of one. She had moved to the next room, and the doorknob turned. Huh...she eased the door open, and almost gagged from the smell. She felt something push against the door, and she closed it. Yea..they had one..and it was against the door, Shit. She would have to man handle this a bit. She shoved her flashlight into her waist band, and turned the knob, spear in hand. Tala's plan was simple, shove the door open and pin the walker, using her spear to pierce it's head in one quick thrust. Simple, right? Tala shoved the door hard, and yes she pinned the dead behind the door, but it was shorter than her aim, a child. The mother started at her from the small hall leading to a bathroom in the room. If she let go of the door, to take a better aim, she would loose her advantage, since the dead child was now going crazy to get at her.
The door gave under the force of his kick and swung open with a loud crack. Marko didn't waste any time. Once again, his training took over and only insincts and the andrenaline coursing through his blood drove him. In a way, kicking down doors managed to distract him from his problems, even if only for a while. He was grateful for that.
Marko had stayed in the main bedroom while Tala had proceeded to the other. A lone walker stood on the far end, a man. His skin was rotten and his eye was a deep black hole full of writhing white maggots. It's hard to believe these things were once human. The hardened steel blade dug deep into the walker's forehead, piercing both skin ams bone like a hot knife through butter. It had done its intended purpose: to kill, or rekill in this
With the room cleared, Marko went in the other room to check on Tala. And he was glad he did. "I got this one" With a swift movement, the military dagger was stuck all the way up her jaws and into the brain. The walker froze, twitched and fell sideways as the blade slid out from her body with a wet, disgusting noise.
The brutal display was over and as much as Marko hated to admit it, the blood and the gore never phased him much. He had seen it too many times already. "Hey, you got that one?" He turned back to Tala, and saw that beneath her feet was a kid, dead and desperately reaching for her leg.
Tala stood frozen, staring at the child. She heard Marko and all she could do was shake her head. No, she didn't have this. It was a fucking child! Now she knew what Remy went through back in the Texas motel. Fuck! She froze, but it was a child, someone's child! Tala started to shake. This had rocked her to her core. Something snapped in her for a moment, and she lifted the spear and made a quick thrust. She stabbed the child through the eye. He couldn't have been more than 4 years old when he was alive.
He was already dead, you didn't kill him. He was already dead, you didn't kill him.
She kept saying over and over in her head. Tala dropped her spear and moved out the door. She leaned against the wall and slid down it to her butt , knees bent. She stared at her hands resting on her knees. She didn't say a word.

Clementine hung back from the camper, her dark eyes unmoving from the hint of motion she had just barely caught. She let Mark move in close, lifting her pistol. Scared, she steeled herself with a cleaning breath, and tightened her grip. She had to be ready to back Mark up, a chance to show she really could do more. Clem had been wanting one of those, hadn't she?
Here it was... and then it lurched and pushed its face against the camper's screen door. Clem jump turned, and nearly unloaded her pistol at its skull. Only, it wasn't an it. He was still breathing for now. A bespectacled, heavyset African American man. He looked terrible, his skin was ashen, and breathing horribly ragged. Then Clem noticed why... he was bitten on his forearm. The man clearly didn't have long.
Stunned, her dark eyes followed the blood trail best she could in the darkness. Looked like it went to a room closest to the camper. Looking back to the dying man, she lowered her gun, and could only make out one word as he whispered something.
'Please...'
Please what? She thought to herself. What did he mean? Then inside the camper she thought she heard the feint noise of a baby starting to fuss. The man's head fell to one side, and her breathed no more. She glanced up at Mark, dark eyes wide, ”Did you hear that?

Dakota stared to follow Ash and Shadow, her youth rifle held at the read. Young hazel yes looked around, searching for trouble as she searched her thoughts too. Koda stumbled over her words, wondering how much Clem would mind her telling. This was Papa Bear though, so she glanced back up at Ash, ”W- Umm You see.. Clem said Lilly was part of the the first group she ever traveled with. And I guess Lilly and the others argued, but to Clem it still felt like they were friends. One day some bandits chased them out of where they were staying, and Lilly and another woman got into an argument. And I guess Lilly was extra mad about how she lost her dad or something.. so it was a hella worse fighting. Then Lily shot that woman and ended up driving off with their RV.
She turned her hazel eyes down, thinking over her own lost family... including Ash.. Even though he was back, she still remembered very clearly what she thought were his last moments. Wiping her eyes dry, she took another glance around, “”I feel like there's more to it, but Clem's not ready, 'cuz she's not even telling me.” After another beat, ”Amd I might understand how hard this Lilly was feeling, but.. I don't know that I trust her if, Clem doesn't.”
Dakota scanned around their side of the motel's perimeter, not seeing much out of the ordinary. She smiled again once Ash commented on Mark. A bit of confusion spread over her young face, ”Umm...I kinda thought Mark was always like that?” The young girl beamed bright, pride shining in her eyes, ”He's teaching me an Clem how to fight. And he's been...”
Her smile fell briefly wit her gaze to the ground, ”When we... I thought you were dead.. he helped me start to learn how to shoot your crossbow.” Koda glanced backup with a sadder smile across her features, . “And I”m finally getting almost as good with it as I am with my rifle. But I only ever found two or three of your old bolts.”

Mark heard the crying. He could feel Clementines eyes on him. the biker opened the screen letting the man fall out. "We should...we should check it out." Mark jammed his machete into mans head making sure he wouldn't come back. Climbing into the camper Mark shined his light around. he felt a sense of dread. The same feeling he got watching his daughter turn.
Shining the light around the camper he could tell someone had been living here awhile. "They must have been here since the beginning." Mark looked at the door leading to the bedroom. He didn't move. He didn't want to see another infected child.

In the back of the motel was a large Cedar Elm tree. Once a beautiful tree it now showed signs of change. A car had been crashed into it, likely a local who was trying to find another route and instead found a tree, the front seat was covered in large amounts of blood and the driver door left open. Upon further inspection someone might note the body limply hanging from the tree as if they had hung themselves, but their body said otherwise. The height that the body hung from could not account for the large amount of flesh that had been removed from the now rotted corpse, no walker could have reached it.
If not for a keen eye, one might overlook the figure of a woman of what might seem average height, brown hair and a small frame. The woman was sitting on a branch high enough to keep herself out of reach of any wondering walkers but close enough to the corpse that her scent was blocked. She had tied herself to the tree in order for her to allow herself to carelessly fall asleep without worry of falling out. Though if the fall was what killed her then what loss would it be? In this crazy world, sometimes one might wonder why they who survive are even trying.
"Oyasuminasai Okaasan," she whispered, "G'night Papa...I love both of you."

"Well let's try to keep Clementine and Lilly apart for now." Ash scanned with his flashlight taped under his crossbow. The trees dense trees made it hard to see far but he was sure nothing was looking at them with hungry eyes. Ash snorted when Dakota made the comment about Mark.
"Check my guitar case. I keep a bundle underneath a few of your drawings." Shadow stuck his nose to the ground and sniffed around heading towards a wrecked car. Ash shined his light on it. "Any guess as to whats inside?"
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
