Lex had been wondering alone for months now, finding the solitude oddly comfortable. Alone, it was just him and the walkers. It was just easier that way. His wife and daughter hadn't died all that long ago, and he had been disbanded from the ARMY, un-soldierly like conduct they called it. Dishonorable discharge, not that he cared much anymore. The world had gone to shit, who cared what the ARMY thought of him. He took a swig of the bottle he had been drinking from, some type of Whiskey, but the label had been torn off when he found it. The car he was driving was some piece of shit Honda from more than twenty years ago, but the tape player had a working tape, and it played music. Country, of all things, but it was better than nothing at this point. An urge hit him, and Lex had to pull over. The car was turned off and the man stumbled out of the car, walking over to the edge of the rode with a sawed off shotgun in one hand, he let down his zipper with the other to relieve himself.

Roman was getting tired of walking, but he knew he had to keep moving. It was damned to get cold soon and he and the cold definitely weren't on good terms. He rubbed his hands together and blew into them while rapping the song "Lose yourself" to keep his attention off the cold and the sniffling cold he was starting to notice. It was probably nothing but out here it could mean the difference between life and death. He was looking around the lone road he was walking with very few cars strolled about. He played it safe taking side streets and such to avoid walkers but even so he still was on his toes. His shotgun was already in hand incase things got hairy.
As he walked through the woods he kept his eyes alert and kept himself aware of everything that was going on around him. Old memories threatened to come to the surface. Memories of when he was no more then a character... but he couldn't let that happen. The other one can't handle this world, he reminded himself.
The sound of a car pulling over pulled him from his mind and he walked across the road to say hi to this stranger, hand on his Beretta. The living were far easier to take out with a bullet then with his saber.
A voice called out to Lex as he was pissing off the side of the road. His hand moved up and pointed the double-barrel sawed off shotgun at the man. What the hell was he talking about? "Hold there, friend." Despite the word, it was not a pleasant greeting given to the stranger. When had the living become so miss-trusting of the living? He finished his business and placed himself away before both hands moved to hold the weapon, he could zip up after all this was done. "What the hell is Grog!? Start making sense." He noticed the man not only spoke crazy, but was dressed as a freaking pirate of all things. Had he hit his head?
"Avast matey, no need for that cannon ta be seein' any use."
Veran pulled his hand off of his Beretta to show that he meant no harm. I should have expected this type of an introduction, he thought. Even before the Apocalypse people weren't always the friendliest bunch, now they when anything and anyone could be a threat...
"Grog is alcohol. Savvy?"
People always seemed to take an odd behavior around him. It must be that they were uncomfortable around someone who was so well dressed, but then of course his garb was a little worse for the wear.

Roman looked ahead and could hear voices in the distance next to some cars. He knew from past experience that people now are much worse than the walking dead. But he knew there wasn't any back streets that he could take for a couple of miles in either direction to go back. He sighed knowing he would have to just go around them. He moved into the forest on the orher side of the street from them and slowly began to walk trying not to get their attention.
Lex nodded his head at the last statement made by this strange man, if nothing else, maybe he could serve to slow the walkers down from him. He lowered his gun, but kept his eyes on this strange new fella. "I've got Whiskey..." He said with the quirk of a brow. "Odd clothing you're wearing..." If he had been sober, maybe he would have heard the man moving along the tree line, but as it was...
"Whiskey'll do if yer willin' ta part with a couple swigs."
He was about to respond to the lubbers comment about his clothing when he heard rustling in the woods and instantly turned to its location. Hand on his saber. He whispered to the lubber.
"Seems we got company. No tellin' yet if it be livin' or dead."
Slowly walking towards the forest where he had heard the rustling he whistled trying to draw out whatever it was that was in the forest. His whistle was quiet but should be loud enough to attract Bilge rat if that was what it was.

Roman kept his eye on the two as he moved past them from the side, he thought he was in the clear. But he stepped on some loud crunching leaves and one of them took notice, the guy was dressed in a pirate get up and even pulled out a saber. He took cover behind a thick tree and took small breaths calming down. He wasn't looking for a conflict and he was sure they didn't see him just heard the noise. He kept his shotgun in his hands already cocked to fire but only waited. If they start moving towards him he got the element of surprise, if they just leave him alone, no blood will be spilt and no bullets would be wasted
Lex turned around and watched as the Pirate made his way over to the trees and gave a sharp whistle. He raised his gun in case there were walkers about and they decided to come running. He didn't want to be taken off guard. When nothing came out right away, he called out. "All right, come on out and nothing bad will happen. No one wants to die here on the side of some God forsaken road." He lowered his sawed off in case whoever it was could see them. "We got Whiskey too, willing to share... if ya drink that is." Who knew, maybe this would be good enough to draw this person out, whoever they were.
"Might be there was a time a'fore all this when we could'a just let you go on yer way,but that times past. Ye got ta know what yer up 'gainst now'days."
The pirate lowered his saber but kept it out in case the man came out looking to fight. Sadly you could never be too careful in the world as it was now.
"Even got a candy bar or two. Might be I'd part with half'a one if'n yer wantin'. Ain't always the best of company but walkin' round these woods with bilge rats about... Somethin' bout that strikes me as a bad plan. Savvy?"
Reaching into his bag he pulled a half candy bar from his bag and through it to lex. It had been broken instead of bitten. A second candy bar came out and he broke it in half, eating one half slowly.

"Alright, I'm coming out!"
He took in a deep breath and stepped out with one hand up raised and the trigger hand on the shotgun. He was in a bad situation if a fight issued but he atleast wanted a fighting chance if things got ugly. He didn't except the candy bar but only stood where he was.
"I don't think I need a drink, just passing by. I think there's a town further up the road that I wanted to check out for supplies."
Lex caught the candy bar and took a bite out of the thing, how long had it been? As he chewed, he watched the third man come out of the tree line. He turned down both the candy bar and the offer of drink, saying instead he was heading for a town to check on supplies. "Just came from that town, it's a few days driving..." His mind paused as he thought of the person he left behind there. A woman.. "There's nothing there. Place's been picked clean." He wasn't lying to the man, he had come from the town this new fella spoke of, and it was picked clean. Only bit left was what was in the trunk of the car he had been driving before he pulled over to take a piss. "Save yourself the trip... Or don't, what do I care." He said with a shrug before taking another bite of the candy bar in his hand. "Ohr, ru can tahke yer chaunce wih us." It wasn't the cleanest of words spoken, but his mouth was full. Had to at least seem like a nice guy. This third person had nothing on him, save that shotgun. But maybe the Captain did... He had the candy bars after all.
"If'n yer looking fer supplies there's a small town up that way," he said, pointing the direction the first stranger had been traveling.
"A bit of the main way here but it still ad some good loot when I left it. Couldn't be takin' out all the bilge rats though an' so I packed meself up an hit ta road 'gain. Might be ta tree of us could take 'em."
He kept his eyes on the new guy who still had a hold on his weapon. The pirate sheathed his saber to show for sure that he meant no harm.
The third member of the party seemed to not be interested in a join up, but the speculation of untapped loot was more than enough for Lex. "You say it was more than you could handle? What about the two of us? Think we could get in and get whatever's in there?" He had a car, and a bit of supplies left still, but he would need more, and this was an opportunity he wasn't wanting to over look if they could in fact get to the supplies.
He gave the oddly dressed pirate a look that seemed to say more than words, he was on board for checking out the town, if the man was willing to go back and try again with the aid of another. Perhaps, with the two of them, they could succeed where the Cap had failed by himself. If nothing else, some recon would let them know if it was too much of a risk. He glanced back to the third member of the party. "You sure you don't want to come along? Could be that shotgun of yours come in real handy." He gave a half cocked smile as he took a bite of the candy bar he'd been given, finishing it off.
"Might be we could take it jus the two of us. The things gonna be some doin' with two but might be we could do it. Ye sure yer sober enough?"
As he spoke he started laying out a town map that he had drawn while he was there. It wasn't the best of maps but it was definitely good enough to make plans off of. He had even put estimates of the amount of walkers in each area. He pointed to two roads in particular.
"That'd be where I found most of them bilge rats." He motioned to one of the streets. "Ain't much need ta be goin' down that'n but the other... gun shop is right there."
He next motioned to a bigger building.
"Might be this one ain't worth the risk, then 'gain it's one o' them super stores. Got food, an cloths an who bloody hell knows what else."
Lex smirked at the question. Was he sober enough? "Don't you worry about that, 'Cap' I can handle myself." And so the nickname had been placed. This funny talking oddly dressed pirate of a man was now forever going to be known as Cap or Captain. It amused Lex how fitting the name was.
Walking over he looked at the crudely drawn map Cap had made of the lay out. There were things on there like how many walkers he thought he saw, and and things like that. The walked about, so that didn't mean much, but Lex knew they were drawn to noise, so maybe they could come up with a plan. As he eyes scanned the map, he listened to what the man told him. "Hmm..." He said as he pondered. "If we could create a diversion here," He said as he pointed on the opposite side of the map. "Then that might buy us some time to skirt like lines here and get back over to the shop. It would have to be loud, which might draw other living people, so we'll have to move fast. No promise as to if we'll find anything, but I might be able to rig a car or two to blow if we find any."
His time in the ARMY had taught him much, but he had never actually put that into practice, well... Now would be as good a time as any, right? They had a plan, if the crazy talking pirate was willing to give it a go, then they might just be able to get in and get some loot. A jacket would be nice too. "I'd still like to do a recon before we set the plan into motion. Walkers have a nasty habit of actually walking around. So there is no guarantee they will even be in the places you mapped out here."
"Ye call em walkers eh? S'pose that's a better name then bilge rats. yer plans solid lubber. Now what's yer thoughts on the super store? If it ain't been looted clean might be we could get a nice haul but I never 'Ave been able ta take on of 'em by meself. Them places is usually crawling with walkers."
He folded up the map and put it back in his pack.and looked to Roman, giving him one last chance to join them. Every man counted when going into a situation with so many walkers. Either way he waited for Lex to say that he was ready to go.
"I think it's worth a shot. Don't know that we'll find any of your clothing style, but with winter around the corner, I know I'm going to be wanting a jacket and whatever else I can find. So I say we give it a shot." He pulled out his 9mm. and looked it over. Pulling out the clip he did a count of his ammo. "Wouldn't hurt to know what we have going into the fight either." He added.
After counting his own ammo, he walked over to the back of the car and opened the trunk. Once opened he pulled out a machete, "I'd offer you one Cap, but I see you brought your own." He was referring to the man's saber. He clearly didn't need a saber, but knowing his weapons count would help.
One last glance was given to Roman, the third member to this potential team. "What do ya say? You in or out?" He had another Machete if the kid was coming along. If not, then he had two for himself, should the need arise. It was all up to Roman. If he came, great, if not, they would say their goodbyes and head off to try and take the place together. Just Lex and a half mad swashbuckling Pirate Captain... What was the world coming to? It didn't matter, Lex would work with whoever to insure his survival.
Veran simply nodded. He was all for having one more person but it seemed that the third guy wasn't coming along and if they were going to do this they needed to get it done before they ran out of daylight in which to do it.
"Thank ye lubber. When yer ready to go let's do it. It ain't a long drive but best be gettin' there a'fore the sun sets. Walkers'r far more dangerous when ye can't see em tryin' ta eat yer face."
With that he walked over to the passenger side of the car. He knew how to drive but the lubber didn't need to know that and it was Lex's car anyway. He highly doubted the man would have let him get behind the wheel anyways.
"So should I keep callin' ye lubber or do ye got a name what might work better? They call me Veran."
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
